Meet Dr. Monson Tryon

Dr. Tryon was born and raised in Arizona. His introduction to veterinary medicine came at just five years old when he held a flashlight for his father, Dr. William Tryon, while he treated a horse. From that day on, he was hooked.

Growing up, Dr. Tryon spent countless hours riding alongside his father, who was well known throughout the equestrian community for Equine Veterinary Services (EVS). Together, they visited horses and farm animals across the Valley, and those experiences sparked a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. At home, he often recreated the farms he visited by raising every type of animal his parents would allow.

By age 19, Dr. Tryon had earned his Associate of Science degree before taking a 2½-year break from school to serve a mission for his church in southern Argentina. After returning home, he pursued the love of his life and soon asked her to marry him. Dr. Tryon graduated from Arizona State University in 2014 and began veterinary school at Oregon State University that fall. After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2018, he returned to Arizona, where he spent five years practicing at Desert Hills Animal Clinic and three years at Grand Paws Animal Clinic.

Today, Dr. Tryon and his wife are proud parents of four children and two dogs. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, whether it's hiking, camping, riding ATVs, playing sports, or enjoying Arizona's lakes and dunes. Most holiday weekends, you'll find him making memories with his family and dogs at the cinders or the dunes.
